ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Kit (NEW 2020)

The ShiftAR Peg Kit uses a common Mil-Spec A2 Flash Hider found on damn near any AR or any other 1/2X28 muzzle device and allows it to be adapted to use as a shift peg on H-D® Motorcycles. The ShiftAR is the same overall length as a standard peg and fits and functions as good or better than any other peg out there while giving your bike a bit more kickass attitude! 

Package includes: (1) ShiftAR Peg Adapter that is CNC Machined Carbon Steel and is Cerakoted Black, (1) Crush Washer 1/2X28, and (1) Mil-Spec A2 Flash Hider that is Melonite Coated. (Normal Wear from footwear will occur on the peg as it is a metal peg)

Installation:

***WARNING***

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this product. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a professional motorcycle mechanic perform the installation. Easy 5 Minute Installation!

Tools Needed:

Torque Wrench 3/8” or 1/2” capable of 11-20 ft-lbs.

(1) 3/4” Open End Wrench

(1) 3/4” Crows Foot Wrench either 3/8” or 1/2” for Torque Wrench Loctite: 248 Medium Strength (Blue)

Torque Specs:

11-15 ft-lbs. for FHG ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Adapter to Shift Lever

11-20 ft-lbs. for Timing of A2 Flash Hider using the Crush Washer

1. Remove existing shifter peg.
2. Now thread the 5/16-24 (Small threaded end) of the ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Adapter provided using Loctite 248 Medium Strength (Blue) into the motorcycles shift lever all the way snug using your hand or a 3/4" Open End Wrench if necessary but don't over torque.
3. Now torque the FHG ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Adapter using the Torque Wrench and a 3/4" Crows Foot Wrench to 11-15 ft-lbs.
4. Place the Crush Washer provided onto the 1/2-28 (Big threaded end) with the flared side towards the FHG ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Adapter
5. Now thread the A2 Birdcage Flash Hider provided all the way snug using your hand or a 3/4" Open End Wrench if necessary, onto the 1/2-28 (Big threaded end) using Loctite 248 Medium Strength(Blue) but don't over torque. ***Definition of Timing*** To rotate the A2 Birdcage Flash Hider on the Crush Washer to a specific or desired placement. (Common timing is for the "Birdcage Side" of the A2 Flash Hider to be facing up toward the tread of your footwear and the "Smooth Side" to be facing down to contact the upper part of the shoe.) The reason we recommend this way is that the "Birdcage Side" facing upward gives better traction to the bottom of your footwear while shifting and the "Smooth Side" helps to not tear up the top of your footwear while shifting. ***We are not responsible for any wear of your footwear while using this product.***
6. Now using the 3/4" Open End Wrench. Hold the already torqued FHG ShiftAR HD Shift Peg Adapter in place while torquing the A2 Birdcage Flash Hider to 11-20 ft-lbs. Placing it in the desire "Timing" of the rider.
